ADDICTION

It started by mere thoughts

I longed to have a taste

Now, I am wanting more

I can’t let go

How do I tell you what I do

A secret slowly killing me

Bit by bit, it grows

My desires increase every day

Oh! what a life

To whom would I run to

To escape this reproach and shame, this prison and hurt

To be happy again

All I wanted was fun

To enjoy life each day

Now, the dazzling glow I thought was splendid

Has darkened my pundit

An enemy to many I had become

Yet the grip so strong

An enemy to self

I am

Unquenchable is this Lust

My obsession, my obsession

A greater passion, I want

Because addiction breaks addiction.
